At Melio Homes, we are committed to building sustainable homes through innovative technologies, eco-friendly materials, and energy-efficient designs. Our home construction principles are focused on the following three fundamental pillars.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

We deploy construction techniques that optimize heating, cooling, and ventilation to achieve energy efficiency. We accomplish this by creating a good building envelope design that prevents heat loss, using Energy Star-certified equipment, windows, and doors, effective insulation to minimize heat flow, integrating HRV systems to transfer the heat from outgoing stale air to incoming fresh air, installing smart thermostats for efficient energy management, and more.

RESOURCE EFFICIENCY

In our commitment to sustainable practices, we prioritize resource efficiency by incorporating recycled or recyclable materials and minimizing waste during construction. For instance, we use cellulose insulation, finger-jointed pine trim, oriented strand board, and employ engineered beams to repurpose scrap into valuable structural elements. Furthermore, we prioritize optimal designs and floorplans, locally source construction materials, and implement an effective waste management plan to deliver architecturally sound and environmentally responsible homes.
